UBD holds Mastering Geospatial Intelligence: A Comprehensive ArcGIS Training Workshop

On January 24, 2024, at 2 pm, participants gathered in Computer Lab G2.4/G2.6 in the APB building for a highly anticipated workshop on Geographical Information System (GIS) technology. Led by the dynamic GIS Engineer Executive, Emily Yong, the event proved to be a resounding success, drawing overwhelming responses during registration.

Emily Yong, recognized for her unwavering dedication and keen interest in geospatial and remote sensing technology, captivated attendees with her expertise. Through engaging demonstrations and interactive sessions, Emily adeptly showcased the practical applications of GIS, illustrating how satellite remote sensing techniques could be employed to collect and analyze data, and subsequently transform it into comprehensive digital maps.

The workshop, which saw a full house of eager learners, concluded with participants leaving with a newfound understanding and enthusiasm for GIS technology. Emily’s commitment to education was palpable throughout the session, as she tirelessly worked to bridge the gap between complex concepts and accessible learning.

Looking ahead, both Ms. Emily and the Research Office are actively exploring the possibility of hosting more workshops on ArcGIS.
